Concrete • Hardscape • SiteworkResidential + Commercial
From residential driveway replacements and designer paver patios to commercial flatwork, excavation, and site preparation. We take projects from initial demolition to final high-strength pour, on schedule and to specification.
Concrete, Hardscape & Sitework Under One Crew
Most contractors show up with a truck and a mixer, ignoring the ground underneath. Land Hopper brings over a decade of real estate development and civil construction operations. Durability starts with subgrade soil analysis, laser grading, heavy crushed aggregate compaction, and precision expansion joints.
Concrete Flatwork
Driveways, patios, walkways, steps, and stoops. Concrete mix, base preparation, reinforcement, and finishing are selected for the project scope, site conditions, and intended use.
Hardscaping
Interlocking paver patios, retaining and seating walls, and permeable systems built on a geotextile-separated base.
Sitework & Excavation
Demolition, earthwork, laser grading, and aggregate compaction coordinated around the scope and conditions of each project.

South Jersey Concrete FAQs
Direct, factual answers regarding concrete driveway thickness, mix and base preparation, demolition, and commercial bidding.
How thick should a residential concrete driveway be?
Standard residential concrete driveways are poured at a minimum of 4 inches of uniform thickness over a compacted stone base. For heavy vehicles, RV storage, or commercial delivery traffic, we typically recommend a 5 to 6-inch reinforced slab.
What concrete mix do you specify?
Concrete mix design, base preparation, reinforcement, and finishing methods are selected according to the project scope, site conditions, intended use, and applicable requirements. In South Jersey, freeze-thaw cycles are a key factor we account for when planning exterior concrete.
Do you remove and haul away old concrete or asphalt?
Yes. All of our driveway and flatwork proposals include full mechanized demolition, removal, trucking, and recycling/disposal of your existing concrete, asphalt, or contaminated soils.
Is excavation and stone base preparation included?
Absolutely. We never pour directly over raw dirt or decaying subgrades. We excavate to proper depth, establish positive water drainage, and install a compacted crushed stone (DGA or clean aggregate) base to prevent settling.
Do you install reinforcement like wire mesh or rebar?
Yes, based on site conditions, expected load requirements, and project engineering specifications, we install welded wire reinforcement or steel rebar grids on chairs to ensure reinforcement stays suspended inside the middle of the slab.
How long before new concrete can be walked or driven on?
Light pedestrian traffic is typically safe after 24 to 48 hours depending on temperatures. Passenger vehicles should stay off the new driveway for a minimum of 7 full days, and heavy equipment or delivery trucks should wait 28 days for full structural cure.
